Holy Najaf City Cement Factory
The factory is located in Al-Rihemia area, about 3 km southwest of Holy Najaf city center, and it is erected on a total area of 660 acres, with a total construction cost of 230,000,000 USD.
The design capacity of the Plant is 6000 ton/day (2,000,000 ton/year) which can be increased up to 4,000,000 ton/year upon the completion
of a second production line.
The machinery and tools of the factory are designed and supplied by the Danish FLSmidth Company.
The factory is made up of the following main parts:
1- Unit of crushing stones, clay and added raw materials, 2- unit of storing mixed raw materials, 3- unit of feeding raw material mill, and
silo for storing the milled raw materials, 4- preheating unit, furnace for burning the milled raw materials, clinker cooler, clinker storage,
cement mill, and silos for cement storage, 5- unit of packed cement, in bulk cement, loading, and storage of added raw materials, and
fuel tanks, and 6- water processing unit.
Also, there are some subsidiary units like conveyor belts between the unit, and fuel pipes from the black oil tank to the preheating unit,
furnace, and cement mill.
Electrical power is supplied to the Project through a special power station established by our Company (KAR Company for Cement
Industry) with a capacity of 45 MW.
Regarding the raw materials utilized in production, the limestone is supplied from the quarry near the project site. Clay is supplied from
Diwaniya Governorate, and added materials are imported from abroad.
The plant produces three types of cement: OPC, SRC and calcareous cement. The plant has obtained ISO certification No. ISO 9001:2015
◆ ISO 14001:2015 – ISO 45001:2018.
The following facilities are included in the Project:
◆ Quality Control Department.
◆ Department of Production Operations Management.
◆ Department of Maintenance Operations.
In addition to the departments of administration, finance Department, safety, and security.
